Tim Williams
Piano
Monday and Wednesday
Tim Williams, aka The Piano Man, has been playing music since fourth grade, and after a stint as a high school English teacher in Roseville, turned it into a career. He has performed in bands since the early 90s, including current groups The Hopheadz and Mad Music Love.
But for the past 12 years, he has been best known as THE local musician for youngsters - “The Piano Man”. Many preschools in the area have had him perform for students on a monthly basis since the early 2000s. In fact, he has been a regular performer at the Art Center for over a decade, and we have finally convinced him to teach private lessons here as well.
The Piano Man has released five albums (Aloha--2003, Add a Little Sugar--2004, Like a Penguin--2006, Schoolyard Rhymes For Modern Times--2008, Monkey Feet--2011), and plans to release a new album this year. Tim is also recording an album of adult tunes.
Tim's teaching style is fun and low-key--he often greets students with, "Hey, wanna go make some music?" He is also extremely kid-friendly and good with all ages: can joke with a 5-year-old, talk pop music with a 12-year-old, and rap about the San Francisco Giants with...well, everyone.
In addition to fans and students, Tim is also the proud father of three children: Jacob, Molly, and Livi.
